"...and nothingness rushes in."

A requiem for teenagers who die in car accidents.

In an attempt to subvert the visceral realities of their deaths, we remember the young who have died with gaudy, infantilizing roadside memorials decorated with flowers, cheap plastic angels and stuffed animals. The reality is more to do with bones, viscera and post-mortem accoutrements such as gauze and chin straps to keep the slackened mouth closed.

This collection is in itself a gaudy memento mori for dead teenagers that reunites the corporeal aspect of their deaths with all the things we allow to rush so quickly into the void left by their absence.
